The literal meaning of ‘Kimaya’ is the ancient alchemy of distilling gold from simple metals – a process lost over centuries to the mankind.
‘Kimaya’ is a partnership firm offering consultancy for various aspects like architecture, urban design, conservation, valuation and interior design. Being established in 1990, it has over 255 projects to its credit. We offer earn while you learn programes for young persons and so far more than 200 such people have benefited from it. We often work with international and national organizations in academic and professional projects.

Heritage Gallery at CST Mumbai, inaugurated 29 January 2010 and opened to the public between 3pm to 5pm for the public in December 2012. Some copies of the original drawings by Fredrick William Stevens the architect of the building are on display at the gallery that showcases the development of Railways from James Watts' steam engine to the nomination of the CST as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Kimaya's design for the lighting design of the CST was is completed in 2015.

This picture of the New Annexe to the Council Hall - a Grade I listed building in Pune, pays its respects to the heritage building while holding its own in the Queen's Garden quarter of Pune. Openness, transparency, continuity between the past and the future, and above all a people's building is what has made this year old building a resounding success with its occupants.
CENTRAL COURTYARD OF VISHRAMBAGWADA CONSERVED! Built in 1808 and commissioned as a pleasure palace by the last prime minister of the Marathas (Bajirao II) we found the original contract document of this building, tried to put it into its original shape as far as possible while treating the building as an exhibit as against the Usual role of the building as a container of exhibits. The veteran architect Vishakumar Badawe and the senior architect Avinash Sowani are partners with Kimaya in this project that is going on since 2003. The above picture was taken on 17 11 2016 during a demonstration of laser cleaning in which participants from various colleges and professionals from Nasik, Aurangabad, Solapur & Pune participated.
Library at Sangamwadi with pine wood slatted false ceiling and recycled pine wood cabinets and reading tables. This is in the middle of a slum. Pine wood is a recycled waste product that comes out of packing crates recycled for such use! A local corporator has created this library in a plot where scrap from removal of encroachments is dumped by the Municipal Corporation in Pune.
